Messy Mache Friday
Good afternoon,
Well, it's been a fun old day here in Room 2. After morning tea we finally got down to applying some goop to our balloons!

Very very very many thanks to Bronwyn, Kisa and Nina for helping out. It would have been impossible without you! Same again next week? (We have to put a final plain newsprint layer atop what we did today...)
Just prior to this, we read, and then altered a poem.

And post mache we popped to the library (while the ladies cleaned up our mess!)

Thanks again ladies I really appreciate your help.
Have a great weekend,
Mr Grant

No Cross Country Thursday
Good afternoon,
Well, since we didn't go the Cross Country with the rest of the school this morning, the Cross Country is coming to us either next Wednesday afternoon or Friday. Mr Atherton is arranging a Cross Country course to be set up in the field, including hay bales and an army ground net - think a cross between and obstacle course and a steeple chase!
This morning's reading was a bit of a mess. I had to pop next door to Room 1 to help out Miss Shaw with R1's Active Board, so one of the Year 8s who stayed behind went into Room 2 to take them for some reading - Dragons, Dragons, Dragons! to be precise.

After fitness...

...I abandoned my planned reading instruction so that I could do some reading assessments with Blue Group. Who all did very well.
For R.E. this afternoon we were discussing, and then acting out, how we can show that the Holy Spirit is working in our lives.

We ended the day with preparing and then playing animal bingo.

Tomorrow please feel free to stop by at about 11 so's you can help us paper mache our baloons.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING AN ART SHIRT!

J Team Cross Country Postponed
Good morning, or not, as the case may be,
The decision has been made that the Year 1 and 2 Cross Country events will be postponed until later. We're staying at school, the Year 3-8's are still going.
And I even bought track pants special like!

Wooloomooloo Wednesday
Good afternoon,
This morning White Group shared yesterday's text with us, The Kangaroo from Wooloomooloo.
After lunch we discussed how people show how we can tell that the Holy Spirit is working in people.

As well as way laying Mrs O'Neil.
Tomorrow, we may be running our Cross Country at Halswell Quarry...but then again, we may not. It depends on the presence or absence of rain. I'll let you know when I know.
If it is on, please send the children to school in their sports gear wearing an appropriate house coloured shirt.
Have a nice evening,
Mr Grant
Oh, and if you missed it, here is this evening's notice...
