Wednesday's Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Not a whole lot to report. We did some reading...

...I did some reading assessments, so there'll be a few changes.

Then some handwriting...

...a quick trot outside to watch Mr Grant and Room 10 do some ball-and-racket stuff...

(Mrs O'Neil thought they were lovely cheering their teacher on!)

...before coming back inside to talk a little about where we're from.

Sorry to hear that the family fun day has been postponed, but there you go, weather being what it is...

CU tomorrow,

Tuesday Tunes

Good afternoon,

After a touch of writing this morning...

...and reading...

(It seemed like such a good idea at the time! :-))

...we all joined together as a team after lunch for J Team singing. Including this little ditty...

Then, seeing as it was a little cool outside, and, as at the time we lined up to go out, drizzly, we practiced some ball skills inside.

And a good time was had by all.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Monday's Maths Mother!

Good afternoon,

This morning Mrs Wassell kindly volunteered her time to help out with maths and writing.

And a great job she did too!

After lunch we sent a message to a friend...

...and acted out how to be a good neighbour.

While I remember it, two things come to mind...

  1. Wednesday night will be the PTA's Family Fun Night/Fish and Chips Night. I forgot to mention it in the newsletter.

  2. Seeing as Lent is a time for giving alms, I will place the Caritas box in a prominent position in the class for the children to give money for charity. It has been suggested that each child could bring $0.20 each school day until the end of the term. It works out at $1 a week for just under four weeks.

Enjoy the evening,

Mr Grant

Friday Animal Day

Good afternoon,

Another fun day was had here in Room 2. We read a poem...

...and then acted it out in stages.
A mouse went peeping, peeping.

A mouse went creeping, creeping.

A mouse crept home and now he's sleeping.

After morning tea, we read a book with this cute fellow in it. So we drew him.

Please have a look next time you're in the room.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Thursday CRT day

Good evening,

Sorry for the delay in the post, the 'net connection at work was playing up, and then us teacher types had to shoot off to St Marys for our Commissioning Mass...and now my darling children have breached our data cap and we're now down to dial-up speed. Sigh.

Today Mrs Grant was at the helm for reading...

...R.E....

...handwriting...

...topic...

...and everything in between while Mr Grant had CRT for testing and such like.

And a good time was had by all.

Tomorrow is our Library day, so please remember to bring back your library books.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Ceremony Wednesday

Good afternoon,

This morning, after reading...

...during which Red Group produced their own version of this morning's text, A Crocodile and a Whale we joined with Hoon Hay School for a ceremony to mark the one year anniversary of the February earthquake.

We started with the National Anthem.

A poem was read...

...a few thoughts shared...

...and a tree was planted by representatives of both schools.

Some balloons were released...

...and we observed two minutes silence at 12:51.

It was a lovely ceremony.

I've got Classroom Release Time (CRT) tomorrow so Mrs Johnson will be at the helm. I'll be here, but assessing and observing and stuff.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant
