Mid Winter Friday

Good afternoon,

We had a great, if a little chilly, start to the day.



The we learnt a new poem...


...and, since they joined us for fitness, we joined Room 12 for a little bit of The Crocodile Hunter. Crikey! It's Steve Irwin!




After Assembly we were joined by our four new, well, newbies, fresh from Room 1.



And a good time was had by all!

Number Thursday

Good afternoon,

This morning, after maths, when we made us some graphs...


...and listened to Green Reading Group share Number One...


After lunch, we did a wee R.E. assessment...


...before coming to the conclusion that there was no easy answer to our Inquiry Question "Why are lions the only cats that have manes."

Other than "Just 'cause"!

Tomorrow's our annual mid winter breakfast, kicking off at around 7:30. Hope to see you there. WRAP UP WARM!

Count 'Em Again Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Man it was cold this morning! So we wrapped up warm...


...and trotted outside again to count colours, but this time I timed them, first on Sparks Road...


...and then Hoon Hay Road.



(Look at that, it was cold!)

Tomorrow we'll use this data to create graphs and stuff.

Kiwi Cricket Ticket

Good morning,

A quick message from Kim Strange, the head of Learning Support here at school...

Is anyone is interested in a ticket for kiwi cricket? It is for Monday 2nd to Friday 6th July from 10am - 11.30am in Hornby. The ticket is $40 for the week.

I have the ticket which I will pass it on if anyone is interested.

This morning kicked off with a quick message to my sister.


Then we trotted outside to count cars. Or their colours, to be more precise.










We also visited the seniors' Science Fair. Way cool!



After lunch, and J Team Singing...


...Mrs Clapp came in to help out with our balloons. Some of which are now hanging in the room. Thanks Mrs Clapp!

It's Monday - And We Ain't Lion!

Good afternoon,

This last week of the term kicked off with Room 2 Maths children taking their own surveys...



Tomorrow we'll count cars.

After morning tea Green Reading Group shared their text for today, Do-Whacky-Do.


For R.E., as well as reviewing our learning about God over the last few weeks.


...as well as beginning to learn a new song of praise...


...which we will sing in a lower key!

On to inquiry. Well, we inquired.




So, ok, we've kinda got a handle on why lions have manes, but why not other cats? More later.

Tomorrow we're going to have a visit from Mrs Clapp to help us get some baskets onto our balloons. I want these finished before the end of the week!
