Good evening,

My, but it was a hot old day out there today. And inside, the internal thermometer read 27.1 this afternoon!

But a good time was indeed had by all.





And with the rest of the school gone, the children could eat in the shade of the trees at the back of the field.

Shiel[d] Be Right Thursday

Good afternoon,

This afternoon we reminded ourselves (or tried to) of who the Greeks fought...


...themselves...and who the Roman fought...



...everyone!

Then we began thinking about and discussing what design we might like on our Greek shields. A bit like this...


(I couldn't call myself a wargamer if I didn't show well painted ancient Greek wargame miniatures when talking about ancient Greeks - though I'll buy mine, rather than hand paint them...)

Here are our initial ideas...


...though these will have to be whittled down to a more manageable number, eh Sarah?!

Speaking of sharing ICT wizardry, here is what we did for R.E. this afternoon.



We finished off our Describe Map that we started yesterday, and then the children worked in pairs to complete their own.



I'll hang 'em round the room. The describe maps, not the children!

Speaking of the children working together, here they are during writing this morning...




...and all praying for Galoop first thing this morning!




And that was our day!

Galoop's Breakfast

Good morning,

Galoop enjoyed his breakfast at Drexels (Riccarton - it's a long way to travel just to have breakfast in Wellington. 't'd be cool though!) He drove us there...



...then sat down to peruse the menu.


"Yum!" said he. "I'll have the special, please."

While we waited for our food to arrive, Galoop talked to Philippa, mostly about that big iced chocolate drink she had.



But Galoop stuck with his coffee.


Then the food arrived, and Galoop got stuck in.






And a good time was had by all!

The children wrapped up Art Attack Week with some weaving in Room 8 this morning. Very many thanks to Catherine and Melissa for helping out, and indeed to all of you who were able to lend a hand over the week. It has been much appreciated.

Next week we're back to normal (well, as normal as it gets - we've got Life Ed visits to work in somehow...but that's mostly the following week), so...

Galoop Visits Air New Zealand's Engineering No. 1 Hanger

Good evening,

This afternoon Ngarita's dad took Galoop on a very interesting tour of through Air New Zealand's engineering facility in the Number One Hanger at the airport.

Galoop At Armageddon

Good afternoon,

Galoop hopped along to Armageddon and met a few folks...












And a good time was had by all!

Galoop's Breakfast

Good afternoon,

This Saturday morning just past, Galoop took us all out to breakfast to celebrate Mr Grant's birthday.

He drove part of the way...


...but got distracted, so Mr Grant had to drive the rest of the way.


Once we got there, Galoop perused the menu, before settling on the Drexel's Special - bacon, fried eggs, a hash brown and French toast.


He then settled down to a cup of coffee and a flick through Mr Grant's present from Kelsey, while waiting for his breakfast.


And Galoop, being the good little frog that he his, ate his meal all up.
