Board Back Thursday...Kinda...

Good afternoon,

This morning, after failing to get the pens to work with the board (seeing as the projector we're currently using is a work around solution since some yob broke in and busted the projector arm of the board during the holidays) I had a bit of an epiphany and was able to hash up another work around to, well, get the pens working!

So, first thing after lunch, the children were introduced to a new morning routine, moving their faces to indicate how they are feeling...



Before this I tried to introduce the routine of cleaning up after reading before they shoot off for lunch. So first, I had them make a bit of a mess!



Later in the afternoon we watched a clip from Chicken Run...



...to illustrate teamwork. (Not that bit, that's the trailer...if you've got it (great wee movie, $6.99 at the moment at the Warehouse (Riccarton)), watch chapter 18...)



...which we then discussed to see what we could learn...



And a good time was had by all.

Oh yeah, and if anyone wants to come along to assembly (Room 2 aren't doing anything, we're just sitting and watching!) please feel free. We start at 1:30.

First Day of 2012

Good afternoon,


A fine old day was had here today in Room 2.

We did a little bit of getting to know each other...




...a bit of directing each other around the room...




...and even a touch of reading.



After lunch, and R.E. where we discussed prayer and how to set up the prayer mat in the mornings...


...we talked about emergencies...


...and practiced earthquake (and fire) drills.

No Swimming...

...for a while at least.

Good evening,

Just a quick heads up for those who haven't checked their emails yet. There will be no swimming this week, or until further notice. The school pool is not in a good way, and will cost a heap to fix. So...please send the children to school on Wednesday in their sports gear, just like last year.
