OLA Athletics Day

Good afternoon,

Well the biggest news of the day is that the Teachers won the Teacher/Parent/House Captain relay!  And this time I remembered to pass the baton (unlike 2010...)...

As for the House Relay, well...

...Yellow won, followed closely by Green.

The rest of the day, from my perspective, was all about the junior long jump.

Which kinda kept me too busy to take many photos.

Still...a good time was had by all!

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

(It appears I've found a work around with placing the photos where I want them, but still...this new Blogger interface is still rubbish!)

Life Ed Thursday

Good afternoon,

This morning was all about Life Ed.  We went first up...

Then back to the room for some shared writing as a class...

...before heading back to the trailer for part 2...

...and then consolidating their learning using the Life Ed resources given them.

After lunch we started learning about the symbols of baptism.

...before tying off the theoretical part of our On a Level Playing Field learning.

On A Level Playing Field Self Assessment

On to tomorrow.

You may have noticed the updated timetable that I posted this morning...

Athletics Day Timetable, Take 2
...well, that's pretty much how it's 'sposed to run.  Remember...house colour t shirts.

Bye for now,

Mr Grant

I hate this new Blogger interface...can't get my photos in the centre...

Updated Athletics Day Timetable

Good morning,

Here is the updated timetable for tomorrow's Athletics day.  Something about needing more time for the girls, since there's more of them...

Techie Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Today, after a busy, busy start...

(I was wondering how they'd get that house of Hazel's out the door!)

...we tried to use the pod of netbooks to use the R.E. digital resource together, all at the same time.

Hmmm...

Jolly computer. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't!
Turns out, if you try to open 14 copies (15 if you count my Tablet) of the R.E. resource all at the same time, the server has a spaz and the network just can't handle it!

So, on to Plan B.  Of which there was none.  I quickly pulled one out of thin air, and thought to get the children to use Comic Life to take take photos of themselves using the netbook's web camera (a difficult task in itself, specially when the jolly thing doesn't work without restarting the computer!), and then adding some R.E. to it.  This started out as an R.E. lesson after all!

Here are the results.
Holy Objects and Rituals

As I said on the cover, not bad considering the last minute nature of the whole enterprise!

And that was our afternoon!

Right, tomorrow.  We're in the Life Ed caravan in the first half of the morning, and then again in the second half.  So no numeracy or literacy interchange at all tomorrow.

Oh, and I forgot to mention in the weekly newsletter, I'll be out of the room next Monday as we J Team teachers take time out to plan next term.  Mrs Hooker will be back in my stead.

And a good time will be had by all!

Mr Grant

And now Blogger has changed it's interface - it's putting the pictures in the wrong place! Argghhhh!

Tuesday...

...something-that-alliterates day.

Good afternoon,

As Room 11 were off having one of their Life Ed lessons, Room 2 stayed together for maths this morning. We had our very own Cantamaths thing going on...

...and a good time was had by all!

Later in the morning White Reading Group started reading Peter and the Wolf, which they will finish tomorrow, so, in the meantime...

We ended the day with a touch of Athletics...

...and singing.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Oh, and speaking of the future, here is the J Team timetable for our Athletics Day on Friday.
