Out of the Way Wednesday

Good afternoon,

I've had what I would like to think to be a fairly productive day setting up some additional pages on our burgeoning Ultranet site. While I was out of the way, Mrs O'Neill took Room 2 for some Christmas Maths...

...J Team Fun Day recount writing...

...and Christmas Craft to finish the day.

And a good time was had by all.

I will be back on deck in the morning, so I'll see you then,

Mr Grant

Happy Day Tuesday

Good evening,

This morning, we made Happy Christmas cards...

...this afternoon, we sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Earl, and then, after singing, Room 7 ran P.E. for us...again...

And a good time was had by all!

As for tomorrow, sorry, but I forgot to mention to the children (or in my newsletter) that I won't be in the room tomorrow, I'll be doing ICT stuff, probably on our new Ultranet site. Mrs O'Neill will be in the room in my stead.

By for now,

Mr Grant

Room 2's Swim Fortnight, Day 1

Good afternoon,

And away starts our swim fortnight!

Lovely weather for it!

When we got back, we did some maths...

...ate inside while watching Vege Tales...

...and finished the day learning the pick 'n mix that is a You, Who, Do, Through prayer...

...which I tidied up thusly.

The children choose one bit from each page and drag them onto a new page to create a new prayer of their own.

Pretty cool, eh?

CU in the morning,

The Generosity of Parents

Good afternoon,

Windy, aeh?

This morning saw us veritably awash with parent help, picking out the detail on our shields that our children would have found a bit beyond them.

Thanks guys, this whole Greek shield couldn't have happened with out you.

I must say Dale, using twink was inspired!

After a quick goodbye (and inspection!), we popped outside for a game of Rob the Nest.

They approached it with good humour and fair play. Everyone played by the rules and were cheering each other on. Lovely stuff.

Just prior to hopping outside, we wrote a poem together. Well, two actually.

After morning tea, I then set the children to write their own in pairs, which I'll put up in the room somewhere. If I can find space.

And a good time was had by all!

I won't be in the room on Monday, I'll be doing some ICT stuff here and off site, but remember - SCHOOL PHOTOS!. Come dressed in your best duds - not fitness gear. We'll probably be before morning tea - might see if we can go first, 'cause I won't be here after 9:30.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Shiel[d] Be Right Thursday

Good afternoon,

This afternoon we reminded ourselves (or tried to) of who the Greeks fought...

...themselves...and who the Roman fought...

...everyone!

Then we began thinking about and discussing what design we might like on our Greek shields. A bit like this...

(I couldn't call myself a wargamer if I didn't show well painted ancient Greek wargame miniatures when talking about ancient Greeks - though I'll buy mine, rather than hand paint them...)

Here are our initial ideas...

...though these will have to be whittled down to a more manageable number, eh Sarah?!

Speaking of sharing ICT wizardry, here is what we did for R.E. this afternoon.

We finished off our Describe Map that we started yesterday, and then the children worked in pairs to complete their own.

I'll hang 'em round the room. The describe maps, not the children!

Speaking of the children working together, here they are during writing this morning...

...and all praying for Galoop first thing this morning!

And that was our day!
