We had all day inside today. Including lunch...

Oh, and by the way, Red Reading Group didn't getting through their text this morning, and I forgot to tell them to take home a browsing box book.

Genuflecting Monday

Good afternoon,

After this morning, during which we did some reading...


(...some of Green Group taking the reading part of their sharing a little more seriously than another...)

...we had an afternoon. And in that afternoon we spent some time learning when and how to genuflect.



We also voted on which Olympic sport to follow and learn about.


So...watch the horsies!

Opps! Forgot me to bring out the camera much...again...

Good afternoon,

After kicking off the day with Jump Jam with the M Team...


...we came back to do a touch of poetry.



We also had a great dance lesson with Room 2, where the children were learning to use different pathways, levels and tempos, and the did really well, especially at the last exercise where pairs had to meet and greet each other in the middle of the circle (of the rest of Room 2 and 12). Next week Miss Fitzsimmons will tape it.

Suffice it to say...a good time was had by all!

Thursday's Theology

Good afternoon,

After sending a message to Mrs Earl, who was all alone in the office today and was hence frightfully busy...


...we spent some time learning one of the ways Jesus' family looked after him.


(The paper version of which will be on the jelly bean table in the morning).


We then identified the Olympic Continents that are represented by the Olympic rings.

Good afternoon,

Opps! Forgot to bring out the camera much at all today. Thought I did get this...


...of the children working together beautifully during reading this morning while I got on with a reading record or two.

After lunch we had a bit of a sing along as the children caught me listening to this...


(one of my favs to play at church)

...so they wanted a song that they could sing along with. So...



:-)

We also started to build houses with our families in them to remind us that the Church is a family. Like, a really, really big family.

Which didn't leave us a whole lot of time to discuss the Olympic rings and who they represent, so we'll look at them again tomorrow.

Then 'twas off to the hall for music...



...where we ended the day.

Room 2 Newsletter for Term 3, Week 2

Here, hot off the presses, so to speak, is the Room 2 Newsletter for Term 3, Week 2.

Funday Friday

Good evening,

A fun wee day was had here in Room 2. And outside Room 2, as it happens.

We read a book about dinosaurs, so, of course, we had to act like dinosaurs. Both plant eaters...



...and meat eaters!



After morning tea, Room 12 joined us and we started a new arts unit - dancing! Ha! All based around the Cicada and the Ants.


So, we watched a very old Disney clip along the same lines...




...and then we popped along to the hall to use the dance elements of pathways and levels.
