Well, a fine sight did greet us as we arrived to school this morning. The senior rooms are all out of bounds!
Actually, nothing much has changed in these rooms, 'cept the goal posts have just been moved! The main block will need a little bit of work to make them compliant with the new building standards. So the seniors are camping out on the field for a bit.
As for us, the day continued with little disruption...'cept we couldn't have instructional reading groups as I usually pull the books out from the back corridor of the main block on Saturdays, which I couldn't do over this weekend.
So, after our shared book...
...the children managed themselves while I took the opportunity to take some running records (reading assessments).
During lunchtime many of the J Team took part in the House Captain's Sand Castle Building Competition.
And a good time was had by all. (This would also explain why there are some rather gubby children in the photos that follow!)
After lunch, and a quick discussion about Lent...
...specifically Ash Wednesday...
...we introduced our newest class member who even knows his own name...
Phillip! Phillip!
Phillip! Phillip!
We ended the day by reading the story of the Good Samaritan, the following clip of which I did not actually show the children...
...and then acting it out.
CU in the morning,
Mr Grant
